Bajra Shahi Jame Mosque
The traditional Bajra Shahi Jame Mosque is a unique example of Mughal architecture. The famous Bajra Shahi Jame Mosque is located on the west side of the main road at Bajra in Sonaimuri Upazila, about 15 km north of the main town of Maijdi in Noakhali. It has made a historic contribution to the propagation of Islam in the whole of Bangladesh including Noakhali. The Mughal emperors of Delhi ruled undivided India for more than 300 years. During this long period, the Mughal emperors and their high-ranking bureaucrats built innumerable buildings and mosques in different places, which still exist as rare and brilliant examples of art in architecture. These include Agra's Taj Mahal, Sekendra, Dewane Mango, Agra Fort, Delhi's Red Fort and Delhi's Shahi Jame Mosque. Mughal (zamindar) Aman Ullah Khan imitated the famous Jame Mosque of Delhi in 1154 AH,
Sonaimuri Jame Mosque
The first mosque in Sonaimuri Bazar is Sonaimuri Jame Mosque. The name of the mosque is to be remembered with reverence, the name of the late Maulvi Md. Yusuf Sahib, who first started praying at the door of his house in 1928 with a sheet and four poles at the four corners and then started the congregation with two or four worshipers. As the number of worshipers gradually increased, he thought about how to build a mosque. Later, he decided to build a house and build a small mosque. From then on, the mosque became a complete mosque. Thus the prayers continued for some time and the number of worshipers also increased. He advised the worshipers on how to make the mosque a little bigger as the number of worshipers was less due to the increase in the number of worshipers. Then, with the help of the worshipers, he started building a slightly larger tin-roofed mosque. This tin mosque has been going down for several years but day by day
Maulvi Md. Yusuf Saheb, a devout giant, later demolished the roof of the mosque and rebuilt the mosque by donating 29 percent of his own land in the name of the mosque. Due to the economic problems behind the mosque at that time, he worked with a mechanic and a chef for about fifteen years and worked inside the mosque. The mosque was built on that paper for about 8 long years.
Mr. Khandaker Monir Uddin, a prominent social worker, owner of Shanta Group and director of Apollo Hospital, is the son of the late Mr. Montaz Darga, a resident of Bagadia. He built a two-storied one-domed mosque at a cost of about four crore rupees. The people of Sonaimuri will always remember this great initiative of his. Besides, I am praying for the forgiveness of the departed soul of the late Maulvi Md.

Gandhi Ashram
Gandhi Ashram is a spectacular historical monument in Noakhali. It is located on the side of the road adjacent to Jayag Bazar in Sonaimuri Upazila, about 25 km north of Noakhali District Sadar Maijdicourt. The Gandhi Ashram was established at the house of the late Barrister Hemant Kumar Ghosh, the then zamindar. At present Gandhi Ashram has gained a nationwide reputation as a service organization in Noakhali.
As far as the brief history of this exceptional organization is concerned, in late 1948, when the poison of communalism spread all over India, the effects of the communal riots in West Bengal came to Noakhali. Especially in Ramganj police station of Laxmipur district, communal violence broke out. Many decorated families were burnt by the torch fire, the green soil turned red in the blood flood of communal riots.
Mahatma Gandhi, the forerunner of the non-cooperation and non-violence movement, rushed to Noakhali as a pioneer of the peace mission. He is determined to bring about brotherhood. He is immersed in the pursuit of unity of all irrespective of religion and caste. The peace plan of this great man, a pioneer of non-violence, principled, truthful and human rights, is successful.
Home and temple of Sri Sri Barahi Devi
The ancient religious shrine of the rich Hindu community of Noakhali district is located in the village of Amishapara under Amishapara Union No. 10, the home and temple of Sri Sri Barahi Devi. The history of the Barahi Goddess is completely intertwined with the creation of Noakhali or Bhuluar. Therefore, Barahidevi has gained fame in the history of Noakhali. The history of its establishment is well known, as Bakhtiyar Khilji, the fighter (and conqueror) of Qutbuddin, conquered Magadha and Gaur in the early thirteenth century AD. During the conquest of Magadha by the Muslims, Prince Jakai of Vishwambharashura fled eastwards with two hundred ships, many families and soldiers and came to Shivdarshan on the Chandranath mountain (present-day Sitakunda in Chittagong). On his return from the pilgrimage, Chandranath and his companions spent the night in a boat on the Meghna near Bhuluar. At night he received a dream, 'Son, in your ship, Rescue the submerged idol of Barahi on the south side of the river and worship as usual, soon you will be the ruler of this vast region. ' It is also revealed in the dream that Vishwambhara Shura should accept the sacrifice by sacrificing an animal. Then a goat was sacrificed. But it was not possible to place the statue properly as the sky was overcast during the day. It was installed facing east instead of facing south. When the sun rises, the illusion becomes clear. Surprised, everyone shouted 'wrong', 'wrong'. Probably the name 'Bhuluya' has originated from this Bhulhua word. The above incident has been discussed so much in the form of legend that its historical truth cannot be denied. Soon you will be the ruler of this vast region. But it was not possible to place the statue properly as the sky was overcast during the day. It was installed facing east instead of facing south. When the sun rises, the illusion becomes clear. Everyone was shocked and shouted 'Wrong Hua', 'Wrong Hua'. Probably the name 'Bhuluya' has originated from this Bhulhua word.
