Sonaimuri in the war of liberation

 

Sonaimuri's role in the liberation war of 1971 was something to be proud of. In the war of liberation, the people of this area faced the enemy with courage. Here the heroic martyr Ruhul Amin, heroic freedom fighter Subedar Lutfur Rahman (later promoted to the rank of Captain), Captain Shamsul Haque, Mr. Wali Ullah led the war of liberation. Under their leadership, hundreds of ordinary people took active part in the liberation war. Bogdad (now Bogadia), Sabzada, Nandiyapara, Nadna and Khelafat markets of the region fought head-on with the invading forces and their culprits and achieved a successful victory against the enemy forces.
